To be well prepared to examine this unit, you need to be familiar with the ten core set texts in the A Level English Literature specification, so that you are able to mark answers across each of the five optional topic areas: American Literature 1880-1940, the Gothic, Dystopia, Women in Literature, and the Immigrant Experience.  You’ll also draw on your wider knowledge of texts in these topic areas, as well as the core set texts, in order to mark student responses. Full details of the range of texts students can select from can be found in the specification.

Benefits

Assessing with OCR is an excellent form of CPD. It will help to develop a greater understanding of how the assessments work, which in turn will help you to prepare your students more effectively.

We offer full new assessor training as part of the assessor support package, for most subjects this is completed online. You would also be standardised prior to live marking.

Fees are paid per paper marked, these differ dependent upon the specific unit and level.

 Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good level of knowledge within the subject that they wish to apply for. Applicants must also evidence knowledge of assessment within a relevant subject area and level.
