We currently have examiner vacancies for AS & A Level Global Perspectives and Research Component 2 (Essay).

 

Cambridge International AS & A Level Global Perspectives and Research prepares learners for positive engagement with our rapidly changing world.

Learners broaden their outlook through the critical analysis of - and reflection on - issues of global significance. The Cambridge International AS & A Level Global Perspectives and Research syllabus is based on skills rather than on specific content. Learners develop research, thinking, reasoning and communication skills by following an approach to analysing and evaluating arguments and perspectives called the Critical Path. Collaborative skills are enhanced through participation in a team project. The skills gained through study of Cambridge International AS & A Level Global Perspectives and Research enable students to meet the demands of twenty-first century learning and to make a successful transition to study in higher education.

 

Component 2 Essay
Candidates explore different perspectives on issues of global significance arising from their studies during the course and write an essay based on their research. The essay title is devised by candidates.

The essay is examined coursework, available online through the marking environment Assessment Specialist File Access (ASFA). In order to download scripts from ASFA, you need a reliable and fast Broadband connection and you will also need to be familiar with word processing and pdf files.

 

Requirements are that applicants:

  • have three years teaching experience (in any subject)
  • have experience of teaching 14 to 19 year olds would be advantageous
  • hold a degree level qualification (in any subject)
  • have a broad interest in contemporary global issues
  • have the ability to apply criteria across a range of global issues
  • have the ability to readily engage with skills-based assessment
  • have a PC, fast and reliable broadband connection and good IT literacy 
  • to mark on this panel you will be expected to attend a face to face meeting in the UK.

Online training will be provided and applicants are expected to mark some training scripts.
